What first inspired your love of food/cooking?

SW: When I landed one of my first cooking jobs at a bistro and the chef was impressed by my work ethic so she took me under her wing and taught me the endless possibilities you can do with food.
GK: Cooking for my family with my uncles for the holidays as a kid is what first inspired my love for cooking & food.

Who (or what) has had the most influence on your cooking?

SW: My family. Growing up in a family of nine everyone had to take part in cooking and learn how to be creative.
GK: My uncle Marvin Bush inspired me to pursue cooking. It was amazing to see how well respected he was. I wanted to try to earn the same type of respect one day.

What are you most proud of in your career as a chef?

SW: I’m most proud of being a part of helping a family business grow into a successful restaurant.
GK: I am most proud of being able to teach others who do not share my passion.

What is your favorite thing to cook on your day off?

SW: My favorite thing to cook is BBQ especially wings!
GK: I love to make anything that can fit in a sandwich. A good sandwich is the way to my heart.

If you weren’t in the food business what would you be doing?

SW: If not food, I would be using my talents in the male modeling world.
GK: Farming is a big part of my family so if I was not in the food business I would do some type of agriculture.

What do you see coming up as the next big food trend in 2018?

SW: Although I’m not a fan, I see plant-based food coming up as the next big food trend.
GK: I think we are in the right place with seafood. With everyone being more health conscious, I feel seafood is the perfect protein to complement the ware of superfoods.
